March 2011 Entry
Back to Cecelia's Journal 25 March 2011
March - Last year, while my baby was sleeping I wrote two short stories: THE MEMORY MAKER and THE GIRL IN THE MIRROR and I'm happy to announce that they'll be published this month.

The Memory Maker is about a lonely elderly man who creates a machine which can help input memories which people have either lost, forgotten, or never experienced. The Girl in the Mirror is about a haunted mirror which has the power to steal people's identities. Both are quite dark and quirky but I adored writing something very different to my usual stories and I hope you enjoy them too.
This month I attended the VIP Style Awards with my friends and family. I was there to see last year's reigning Style Queen Yvonne Keating hand over her title and also was delighted to cheer on my flabbergasted sister Georgina as she and her husband Nicky won most stylish couple, beating my mother and her partner to the title. We had lots of fun and thanks to VIP magazine for a great night.

Along with 30 other Irish women writers I attended an Easons O'Connell Street event which celebrated Irish Women's Fiction. It was wonderful to meet with other writers and more importantly, the readers. Thanks to Maria Dickenson for arranging a terrific event.
