I watched the film before I read the book, the film was so amazing; I bought the book and just couldn't put it down. The film was not an exact replica of the book, although the main ingredient was there - which of course were the letters from Gerrry, however, because I watched the film first - I could see the characters when reading the book. I felt that Cecelia, for most of the time, managed to get across how grief-stricken Holly really was and how much Gerry loved her.

I am so glad that I read this book before watching the film, if it had been the other way round I would never have picked this book at all.
The film just did not follow the story correctly enough for my liking which is such a shame as I was so looking forward to the film coming out.
However the book is fabulous and has been read many times, and even though I know the story by heart now it has me in tears every single time.
The book covers so many emotions during the story it has you laughing out loud one minute to crying the next. This book will remain to be one of my all time favourites. Well worth a read. x

i'm absolutely in love with this book! i got this book (many years ago) after my friends recommended me to read it. i love the story line, the characters in the book and also the love that revolves around them. it shows that true love never dies, be it between husband and wife, parents and child or friends. i love it how love can change someone for better. the ending is unexpected but i must say, it's a good one! Cecelia, just where did you get the idea of writing this brilliant story? i have read this book for more than 10 times and still crying like a mad person! you really touched everybody's heart and i thank you for that!
for those who's still thinking whether or not to buy it, i totally recommend it! buy it and read it and you'll feel the fun, laughter, sadness, touching moments that will make you want to read it again and again. KUDOS to Cecelia!

I saw the movie before the book. The movie is one of my favourite. I cried from start to end - tears of sadness and joy. I was one with Holly and her emotions. Got the book( well three actually: Where Rainbows End and The Gift were part of the pack) read it and loved it. I loved all three actually and am now a fan. I read all three in one month. Started with The Gift since I loved the cover and was just after Christmas and thought it could not get better than that. It did. Cant wait to get my hands on other books. Already gave my baby sister "The Gift" :-)

Good work and an amazing story line…! This is my most favorite book and a book which brings out the reality …ending was totally awesome and I am obsessed with this book CECELIA!! I have read many books and this is the very first time I m writing a review…! Too good and I enjoy reading all your books…this is the only book which hit me emotionally….I take great pride in calling me your fan…I wish you all success

This is my favourite book...True love never dies...but sometimes I think HOW it'a possible go on and change the pain in order to be able to feel close to us the person we loved....like an Angel?
